Hallmark Floors, founded in 1998 and based in Ontario, California, is an American hardwood flooring manufacturer known for innovative engineered wood, solid wood, and vinyl floors.

The company now offers 100+ uniquely designed hardwood and waterproof floor collections. One of their most popular engineered hardwood collections is the Avenue Collection, which has lately surged in popularity. In this article, we will explore why this is the case.

Avenue Collection is Ultra-Wide Engineered Hardwood

Hallmark’s Avenue Collection is a premium line of engineered hardwood using ultra-wide (9.5″) planks.

It features 10 distinctive color/wood options (various European Oak, American Maple and Hickory) with plank lengths up to 7′2″. These are “true sawn-cut” engineered planks, each 15 mm thick with a 4 mm real wood wear layer (equivalent to ¾″ solid) over a multi-ply plywood core.

Hallmark cold-presses the core with TSCA-Title VI adhesive for extra stability. A durable TrueMark GlazeTek finish (built up from multiple coats of urethane with nano-oxide) is applied, carrying a limited lifetime wear warranty. Because the wear layer is so thick, Avenue planks can be sanded and refinished up to three times (MG4 rating).

The Avenue Collection planks are wire-brushed (oak/hickory) or lightly sculpted (maple) for a textured, “naturally worn” look, and come in low-sheen neutral tones (greige, blonde, white, etc.). Hallmark rates all these as V4 (substantial variation), meaning each plank has marked color/grain differences for a rustic appearance.

All Avenue floors are warranted for lifetime structural integrity. Finish warranties vary by color (most are 25 years residential, though some lighter colors like Sunset Oak carry a lifetime residential finish warranty).

Importantly, Avenue is intended for indoor use. It carries a limited commercial warranty (5-year commercial finish, 10-year commercial structure). Hallmark explicitly lists multiple installation methods: the boards can be glued-down, stapled/nailed-down, or floated, and are rated for use over radiant heating (except certain Hickory options).

Overall, the Avenue Collection delivers ultra-wide, old-growth hardwood aesthetics with the dimensional stability of engineered construction.

Sunset Oak (European Oak)

Sunset Oak is a greige-colored European oak with a warm, natural patina. Planks are 9.5″ wide by up to 7′2″ long (241 mm×2184 mm) and 5/8″ (15 mm) thick with a 4 mm sawn-cut wear layer. It is an engineered hardwood plank, wire-brushed on the surface for added texture.

The finish is Hallmark’s TrueMark GlazeTek. Sunset Oak carries Hallmark’s limited lifetime residential structural & finish warranty (plus 5 yr commercial finish), reflecting its durability. The overall look is “naturally worn” and V4-rated (heavy color/grain variation).

Usage, Installation, and Durability

All Avenue floors are engineered hardwood, so they should be installed indoors using standard methods (glue, staples, float). Hallmark specifically allows installation over radiant heat (except the Hickories).

These are premium DIY/contractor-grade floors, with pricing typically ranging from $5 to $7 per square foot at wholesale (varies by dealer).

The thick 4 mm wear layer and strong finish make Avenue floors exceptionally durable. The manufacturer advertises up to three refinishes (MG4) over the life of the floor. The TrueMark finish is scratch- and scuff-resistant, with nano-oxide reinforcement.

Overall, these floors suit high-end residential use (and even light commercial areas) where a dramatic, wide-plank look is desired.
